Here's a simple upgrade to the iPhone: let me turn OFF the vibrating alerts while I'm on a call. So once I start a call, and until I end the call, no vibrating alerts on my phone please. When the phone is covering up my ear and an email comes in, the vibration is louder than the audible alert. So there you go. You're welcome Apple.
