There's been a lot of discussion about The Killing [AMC] season finale last Sunday. I don't get what all the fuss is about. People are saying they either loved it or hated it; they felt it was "controversial" and Bryan Wiedey on twitter said it had ridiculous red herrings and inconsistencies. But when have the best shows on TV not been controversial and made up of twists and turns; red herrings and inconsistencies (until explained in future episodes)? My goodness people: if you don't like the show... STOP WATCHING IT!! I thought the first season of The Killing was interesting & entertaining. Best show on TV? Not exactly, but well written, well acted, well produced and certainly entertaining as far as dramas go. I was hooked. Granted, the first few episodes were tough to get through -- it's always hard to watch families meltdown emotionally as they find out devastating news -- but it's a good show. Some of have compared it to the look & feel & pace of Se7en. At any rate, the best TV shows do what The Killing did -- keep you guessing and keep you coming back for more. That's why we love season 2 of Alias, and the 1st season of Heroes, any season of Breaking Bad... And it's why the series finale of Lost was such a big deal. And the Sopranos. I'm happy for The Killing and I think it's great that AMC has something other than Mad Men to fill the gap. Besides, if you want something "safer" watch re-runs of Highway to Heaven or Little House on the Prairie. Stop complaining! It's FREE TV people!
