I believe some thank you's are in order:

First, let me thank Cheril Hendry and everyone at brandtailers. TEDxOrangeCoast wouldn't have happened without their talented team running the show. Laura, Adria, Katherine, David, Sean, Keith and Eileen worked so hard on this event and did such a fantastic job. Cheril, you're an amazing woman. Thanks for letting me be a part of this inaugural event. Thanks for your leadership and most of all your smile. Means a lot.

Amir Banifatemi, the man behind the scenes, who put this entire event together and had the vision and tenacity to see it through. Thank you Amir. It was a pleasure working with you. So level headed, smart, resourceful and trusting. Rare qualities for a human being, let alone an executive producer. I look forward to doing it again. Thanks to Mojdeh as well.

Everyone at Segerstrom Concert Hall: thank you! Ellery Brown, Tom Lane, Chris Boelkes, Loren Thies, Greg, Bill, Tim, Jimmy, Jerry and the entire crew, you were an amazing group to work with. Thanks for your hustle, the great attitudes and your patience.

Thank you to the Pacific Symphony: Jeff Sells, Sean Sutton and David Elliott. Jeff, you did an amazing job juggling everything. We typically have 5 people doing what you did by yourself, so thank you for the extra hustle and creative input. The show looked amazing, thanks to you.

To my crew: Michael, Tina, Ty, Valentine, Drew... you guys rock! Thanks for making everyone look good. Drew, thanks for being there -- things just go smooth when you're around. :-) Ty, without that DA, we would have been screwed. Thank you! Great job on camera (as always). Tina, even with a dozen people huddled around you, you stay calm and collective. Such a professional. Thank you. James Armstrong, thanks for the Ki Pro's - love those things and love Showgun for letting us use them. Michael, thank you thank you thank you. We gave you very little to work with and you made it a masterpiece. Can't wait to work with Nice Fish Films again.

Thanks to all of the speakers and a special thanks to Kimberly Wiig and Barbara Seymour Giordano for coordinating the speakers, working with them on Wednesday, calming their nerves, coordinating their presentations and just being awesome! Kim, it was so great working with you. Thanks again for everything.

Thanks to everyone at the UCI Dance Department. Lisa and Sheron, such a pleasure! Mark, thanks for your direction.

Thanks to the Livestream team: Chris and Alex.
Thanks to Steve Borow at PGR (PGR helped us out in a pinch).
Thanks to Raymond Gorman at Videocam.

It takes hundreds of people to pull off an event like this and to know that most of these people volunteered their time and talents to bring this event to fruition just blows my mind. I'm so humbled and honored to have worked with everyone I mentioned here.

    Thank you.

How time should be spent during a load in & rehearsal day vs. what can end up happening if you're not careful. Make sure you do everything in your power to protect your rehearsal time. Remember, spend less than half of your time setting up, programming and testing so that you can spend most of your time (more than half) rehearsing and polishing (that is, putting out small fires and making the show the best it can be).
